This will be my very first blog entry that I have done. Since this blog is supposed to be about food related, I guess I can start off by telling y'all some of the stuff that I have learned so far in my Soups and Sauces class. At the begining of the quarter we made a lot of various soups. Some of the soups were ones that I've heard of but never had made until I had taken this class. Such as Shrimp bisque, Split Pea Soup, & Mulligatawny. Then there are your more common soups like Cream Of Mushroom, Cheddar and Leak, & Southwest Black Bean. As the class went on it has gotten a little harder. I can definitly say that making mayonaise in thrity seconds or less is truley an art and an easy skill to learn, if you know the tricks of the trade. :) From all of the things that I have learned so far in this class I think that Demi Glace is the sauce that i will remember the most. Simply because it takes so much damn effort and time to make. But when the moment comes to taste your sauce that had taken almost all day to make it seemed like, it was all worth it!
